How CargoNook works

What it does

Pick your car and an item, or type in the dimensions from a listing. CargoNook checks them against measured boot space: floor length, width between the wheel arches, height and the size of the opening, with the seats up or folded.

Why it exists

A litre rating can't tell you whether a long flat-pack will go through the boot opening. Litres describe volume; fitting depends on the shape of the space and the size of the hole you load through. Manufacturers rarely publish either.

How the data improves

Measurements come from owners with a tape measure, and other drivers verify them. When someone corrects a number or notes that an item only fits diagonally, the next check gets better.

When the data is thin

Some vehicles and items don't have verified measurements yet. When that's the case, the verdict is “Not enough data yet” rather than a guess. Even a confident verdict is guidance: check the real car, secure the load and follow local road rules.
